daycare rates

The going rate for daycare around here is $85 to $100 per week. What do you think one should charge if they were going to babysit during second-shift hours (3 to 11 pm)? I would think they could get a little bit of a shift differential, couldn't they?

I don't know. The going rate where I used to live was $4/hr for regulars, $5/hr for drop-ins--here's it's $5/hr! Ouch!

I would think so! Here daycare is running $30 or more per day, so your rates are way lower! People won't find many that would take their kids for 2nd shift hours, so that in itself would make you worth more! I don't know how to figure out how much more though.
