I have always wondered what does the number next to the persons email address you are sending money to mean?
Like it will say johndoe@gmail.com verified (45)
What does the (45) or what ever the number may be mean?

No, they receive payments into their PayPal account. It's all done via secure electronic transfer.

Ok, I was going to put my 2 cents in but thought maybe I'd just look on my paypal account for info!! Better than running at the mouth.

Seller Reputation
The Seller Reputation Number measures how many Verified PayPal members have paid that seller. New transactions are added 30 days after they occur, to ensure that the Reputation Number reflects successful exchanges.

Account Status
U.S. Users are considered "Verified" if they have confirmed the bank account they have added to their PayPal account.Verification is a positive signal to the Community that a user has complied with Community security measures.
