Can someone tell me how this sentence would be diagrammed? And what part of speech "what" is?
What a great miracle that was!
Thanks. We weren't required to do this but were curious.

What a great miracle that was!In this case "what" is an adjective describing "miracle." "What" can be used as any part of speech other than a verb or a preposition.
Suppose I should do the rest too.. seeing that you didn't ask specifically about "what." ")
I'd use "that" as the subject, "miracle" as predicate nominative, but I suppose you could make an argument for it being the other way too. I hear the sentence as, "What a great miracle THAT was."

That's what I was thinking too. Here's what I came up with:
What-adj of miracle
a-adj of miracle
great-adj of miracle
miracle-subject
that-predicate nominative (not sure? miracle was that; that is a demonstrative pronoun)
was-linking verb
