Has anyone used this English textbook? What do you think about it? It really goes into depth with for example, different types of nouns, common, proper, singular, plural, possessive, irregular possessive, collective nouns, nouns as subjects, and words used as nouns and verbs. Another chapter discusses pronouns, subject pronouns, object pronouns. possessive, possessive adjectives, agreement of pronouns and verbs, I amd Me and compund subject and object. Now we know public school doesn't cover all of this stuff.

Do you have a link to the text?

My son's school uses a consumable version of VIE through fifth grade, but I felt it was too skimpy and short on explanations. We decided to supplement with Rod and Staff which I think is a more thorough program. My eighth grader is now working through the eighth book. It does have a certain religious viewpoint, which I don't find offensive, but some might.

You might also want to look through Michael Clay Thompson's books.
