Never, even if just for a second, even if you just need to free up your hands to close a gate, never, ever put a chicken egg in your pocket.

Thank you, that is all.

I have done that on very rare occasion while bringing eggs in from the henhouse, but it makes me nervous when I do so.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I have done this more than once....and yes they broke each time. :banghead:

I too have done this more than once.

The worst incident was when a dog I was caring for decided, after not coming near me for days, to be my best buddy when I had several eggs in one pocket. What a mess.

One of my best egg marketing stories had to do with putting an egg in the pocket of my coveralls. They were new to me, those coveralls, and I didn't realize they had a real pocket and a "fake" one -- one that allowed me access to any pockets I might have underneath, kwim? So, the point is, they led into my real clothes.

But, anyway, I dropped the egg into the "fake" pocket. Unbeknownst to me, it traveled all the way down into my farm boot. I was kind of wondering why I had this pain on my shin, but I didn't bother to check it out until I got back home. Just walked around outside for hours with this knot on my shin. Lo and behold, when I finally checked it out, it was an EGG! And, it had ridden around in the front of my boot all that time without breaking!!!!

Too bad it didn't work out that way all those times I made the mistake of putting an egg in my REAL pocket. You just can NOT lean on those suckers! :001_huh:

Cheers!
