I think I have messed up my ds with his math! He started NEM in 7th grade, and because he does every problem he is still plugging away in 8th (finishing up Chapter 10). I recently bought the Thinkwell Intermediate Algebra program CD's. The videos are great, but the exercises are pretty repetitive. I haven't got a lot of money to play around with at this point, but I'm not sure how to proceed.
I've heard good things about Lial's, but don't know what to buy, since there seem to be a lot of editions out there, and more than one level. This would also mean he'll have to restart geometry. I'm not sure what to do to help get back on track.
Should I pick up an old edition of Lial and have him go through that, along with Thinkwell videos for explaining concepts? And then maybe start geometry once we've finished that?
I considered all this not too long ago, which is why I picked up the Thinkwell. He uses Thinkwell a couple of days per week, NEM the other days. I'm pretty sure we won't be going on to NEM 2, so would it be better to just stop NEM now, since he'll have to redo geometry anyway, and just get busy with algebra for awhile? Help!
