Poll: Stomach bug...how long before he's "better"

My ds15 had a stomach bug early this morning (vomiting at 5:00 A.M.). He took Tylenol for a headache at 10 A.M. I assumed he would not be attending an outing with friends this evening, but he's asking, "How long before I'm considered well?" I've always said 24 hours...

What say you? If he's up and dancing around, would you say no, too?

At least 24 hours. The consideration is not for himself it is that he could give it to his friends. You stay home because you like you friends enough to make sure they don't get sick!

We have one family that I do care about, but the one frustration I have is that I will show up at church and they will be telling me about their week, "Ya, Jack was throwing up yesterday, and Tina last night, but everyone is fine now." What?!? I want to scream, "Why are you here?!?" Inevitably my kids come down with the stomach flu the next day! Irritates me to no end that they didn't just stay home. Sigh....

I soooo agree! I told my ds that if he had been sick in the evening, but healthy all day today--then we'd probably let him go.

I just wanted to ask...I didn't think I was being unreasonable!

If he had a Tylenol a few hours after vomiting, and it stayed down - he sounds better to me!
