What does Singapore PM not cover that a more traditional curriculum would? For instance, I have not seem any calendar work, reading thermometers, and things like that. Since we are using CLE and Singapore together, things like this are covered. If I went only Singapore, what extra things would I need to make sure to hit on?

I'd think that temperature would be a science topic. There is no calendar work, but there is work with clocks and time. Singapore also covers reading measurements from various kinds of scales.

You might want to check out the new standards edition (not u.s. edition) that has just come out. It has aligned the order of presentation with CA state standards (which it is my understanding that it means that it is aligned with a lot of state standards). Singapore claims that they haven't changed how they present material - so hopefully it hasn't lost any of it's academic excellence.

Two things: 5th-6th grade statistics and probability and geometry. These are covered beginning with NEM 1. Remember that Singapore doesn't repeat things from year to year, so there's not the "preview" that other programs have.

Thermometer work is properly science, anyway. Caledar I do in social studies.

Add negative numbers to the list.

There is geometry in PM 5 & 6. DD is working on triangles in 5B today. Maybe Reya meant they don't cover proofs? Singapore does not teach proofs in their secondary studies (NEM & others).
