Has anyone read the "healing ADHD" book about the 6 types? Any opinions? My dd will be getting evaluated for ADHD soon so I am looking for information. The thing is, she doesn't have attention or hyperactivity issues.

She is aggressive, moody, talks non-stop but can pay attention to about the same level as other 6yos and isn't a bouncing off the walls kind of kid. She does hyper focus and self calms buy twisting and pulling at her hair.

I want to know what I am talking about when we see the Dev. Ped. again. Suggestions?

Well, I think that some of his types of ADD are really more on the mood disorder spectrum. I know that one type (can't remember which) is very similar to bipolar which is what my 12dd has.

It is interesting that he talks about different types of meds/supplements helping different type of ADD---and some he suggests are ones that help bipolar as well.

From what I remember, you might ask your doctor about anxiety and/or mood issues for your dd. I would also ask them to check thyroid, lead levels, and maybe tests for food allergies, etc.
