Jump In Writing ? Other easy to use writing programs?

Would Apologia's Jump In Writing Book be a complete and comprehensive course in writing? I am looking for something easy to use and all in one. I was looking at the Jump In samples but I can't tell much from it. Does Jump In start with the basics (like how to write a paragraph)? Then does it go into writing enough so that you really get a handle on it?
