Spelling Workout Question

Can anyone tell me if the Teacher's Manual is need for the Spelling Workout levels B and up?

We've done A, B and are on C. No guide needed, so far.

The highest we've gone so far is level D (ds just started this), and we haven't gotten any Teacher's Guides, either.

I thought I had read somewhere that they are needed a some point though.:confused:

I'd love to know when that is.

WTM (revised ed. pg. 72) says You won't need a teacher's manual until the fourth or fifth book "at the earliest" - I would assume you could further than that without them.

Well I'll be the voice of dissent here, lol; we've done SWO A-E and I have all the teacher guides! lol

I really don't think they're *necessary*, it's more of a help to me with small things like dictation sentences (easily made up on your own); and there have been a couple of exercises in there that kinda of threw me and I had to look up an answer or two. Sometimes the kids take the extra tests in the teacher guides, sometimes not.

Our daughter has done up to G and we didn't feel the lack of a guide.

I don't remember what level we are on (I am on my uncle's computer, not at home, so I cannot check). We have been using it a couple years--dd is finishing fifth grade now. I have never needed or wanted the TM.

I have level D and bought the teacher's guide. I think I have opened it once :001_huh: so, in our case, not needed!
