I just have to post this. Ds is doing dual enrollment, and the college he attends requires a class titled Critical Thinking as a prerequisite to any computer programming courses. The class is a combination of formal logic and, I guess, what you would call modern critical thinking. We did the Traditional Logic series in 8th/9th, and ds is now one of 5 students who has an A in the class out of about 50 students, and he's exempt from the final. Most of his public school counterparts had no clue. A warm fuzzy for me!
Thanks!
Mary

That is awesome, Mary.
I just called over my two 13yo boys to read your post since they have TL coming up in the next year or so, and they also both have an interest in programming (which is limited to programming video games right now ;)). They can now see why they should take an interest in Logic.
TYVM! :001_smile:

That's great! We are starting Intro to Logic w/ Nance this Fall -- and we'll do TL the following year. I love hearing these testimonies -- of hard work that has paid off :)

hard work (and your child's) pay off!
Beth in SW WA, I think using Intro. Logic first is a good idea, followed by TL I and II. TL I is very do-able in the 7th grade, but I found that even with my oldest, finishing TL II was more difficult---the concepts are more difficult. Giving your child a year with Intro. will be helpful!
