Dd is going back to the Dev. Ped. soon. I feel like there is something more going on but I don't know what. ADD was listed as suspected at our first visit. She has no problem paying attention but there are major impulse control, personal space type issues. We are in OT for SPD already I just feel like there is something else going on.

Any resources or personal experiences would be welcome! Thanks.

The 2 big culprits are dairy (specifically the milk protein cassein) and wheat. If you search the boards you shouold find a post from me on how to test and counter test for a dairy sensitivity. Unfortunately I don't know howto test for a wheat sensitivity. I do know it takes much longer to clear the child's body than milk.

If you can't find the dairy post, ask and I'll write it up.

Does your dd also have mood swings, rages/agression issues, etc? I can't keep everyone's kids straight here.

control his temper better when his impulse controls are intact. It also helps that he's just turned 14 and is leaving some of the puberty problems behind.

He doesn't have the mood swings.

That's typical of SPD. It's a function of not knowing where the body is in space. The OT should help with that, though it may involve some retraining as well as therapy. Personal space involves a cultural aspect as well as a knowledge of where the body is in space.
