Has anyone combined these? Our co-op is using IEW writing and Sonlight Core 300 for the same students.

So I'm wondering if any of the Theme Based Writing programs would coordinate well with modern world history.

Thanks,

Kimberly

Kimberly,

I was thinking about the same thing. I may combine IEW American History Vol. 2. Even though that includes the Civil War, most of it is 20th century. I also wonder if the Character based lessons might work. I hope to look at both of these at the convention. If I don't go with one of these, I may go with SICC C, but that is expensive!

I called Excellence in Writing and the theme based lessons that would cover modern history for high school are being re-worked and have been pulled. She had no idea when they would be back from the printers.

However, she did recommend using the sonlight readers and pulling models from there or the Instructors Guide. I'm going to purchase the core 300 guide this week and see if there are models that I can pull from there and place in the free download (replacing the random models they provide) for SWI C.

Good Luck!
