I'm just curious what the going rates are for instrumental music lessons around the country.

Private?
Semiprivate?
Group?

I am paying $10 for 30 minute piano lessons each week. This seems to be the average for my area.

If you scroll to the very bottom of this page, a similar thread is listed that received quite a bit of answers that will help.

Lessons here are $30-$75/hour. There is very little competition and high demand so they charge a mint here. Only beginning guitar is in the $30/hour range. Everything else is in the high end. However, we do have a lab band. The kids must be taking lessons elsewhere in addition to the band, but the lab band is a great program and only $15 a month.

Ds10 had a couple of guitar lesson but did not like it at all. I think we are tone deaf as a family. He does have friends that play in lab band so I get all the info from their parents.

$12.50 per 30 minutes for private piano lessons and it is a steal! The teacher also pro-rates. I was lucky to find him because they usually charge about $26 per 30 minutes.

For my kids I pay $10 a lesson. I really feel that I am not paying her enough, but that is what she charges. It is on the low end for my area. I am starting lessons for myself next month and I will be paying $25 a lesson. That seems more in line with other people.

I prefer private lessons. The average here is around $17-20 for a half hour lesson.

I think there was just a long thread about this but I am clueless as how to search and find it or post a link for you.

If you know how, or maybe someone who has more computer skills than I possess could point you in that direction?

I know I posted there and there were several pages of others that had as well. Why reinvent the wheel, right?

We pay $100 a month for 30-45 minute lessons per kid per week. I currently have three in private lessons. Unfortunately, I have to sit in the car for and hour and a half - two hours every Tuesday night as they rotate through. :O

I am paying $20 per 1/2 hour each of violin and piano, and $30 per 45 min. of flute. Those are all weekly for 3 kiddos--not all lessons for 1--lol.

We pay $50 a month for a group piano lesson for an hour. It is through the community music center of a local college here.

Violin/cello lessons average $34/hour in our part of Tennessee. This is for private lessons.
