Please share youngest age you've read aloud to. I'm contemplating them for my 10 and 7 yo guys.

I've never used them as read alouds, but my son started reading them to himself when he had just turned 10. You probably know this already..but you go to Nothing New Press and read pages from each book.

I'm using The Story of the Ancient World by Miller/Guerber with my 5th & 3rd graders, and it's going well! Occasionally I'll stop briefly to make sure they understand a word, but not very often.

My seven year old can handle The Story of The Ancient World as a read aloud just fine.

We read this last year when my children were 10 and 7.5. They enjoyed it and followed it fine. I also really like the Famous Men series for younger children as well. You can read both the Geurber (for Greece and Rome) and the Famous Men series at www.mainlesson.com (http://www.mainlesson.com). Test them out and see which is the better fit.

We finished Story of the Thirteen Colonies and just started Story of the Great Republic with a 4th, 2nd and 1st graders.

I started reading Story of the Middle Ages to my 7 and 11 yobs this year and has been going really well. My 13yog is reading Story of the 13 Colonies on her own.
