Yesterday I was going to do Apologia, though I was n't sure that's what would work the best.

Today I saw another thread and two Chemistry programs that were mentioned intrigued me.

Can anyone give me opinions on how complete "The Spectrum Chemistry" and Bridget Andoin's "Science For Highschool"--the Chemistry curric. is, and which might be better for a mediocre to good science level 10th grader next year?

Thankyou so much!

to hear him say that he thought The Spectrum was a good product. By this I don't mean that I'd heard anything bad about it before then either. He was giving a talk encouraging parents that high school science is doable. Of course he represented his own products as well, but he very carefully avoided endorsing his own product over Spectrum. He said he thinks it is a good product, but a different approach than his.

'fraid I can't help more than this.....but I thought it was interesting.

Here's a link to the scope and sequence for Spectrum. We are using it this year and ds really likes it. I like that he is so independent and the labs are all laid out so I don't have to search for materials! We also used the Bridge math supplement which covers math needed in chemistry (scientific notation, significant figures, etc.)

Thankyou so much! I am leaning so far toward this Chemistry now that I'm about to fall over! I like the other for my dd11 as well. It's expensive, but it looks really good!

Now to convince dh. Anyone have ideas for that? ;)
