It's always a huge question.. what to read in French? What are the good French books for kids?

Well, someone just published a reference book.
Que lire de 5 à 11 ans? (http://fr.novopress.info/71551/%C2%AB-une-bibliotheque-ideale-que-lire-de-5-a-11-ans-%C2%BB-par-anne-laure-blanc/)

Now I have not seen this book yet, and I don't really know what they suggest, but the blurbs I'm seeing about it mention :
1. good French
2. positive heros
3. optimism
4. respects the values of society (whatever those are???)
5. nicely illustrated when appropriate.

By the way, who can tell me the best way to get French books in the US? Should I try to order from Canada or???

Scholastic Canada ships to the US and lets homeschoolers set up an account. :001_smile:
