I am missing something when I read the website. Do I have to watch the DVD on my computer? I am not understanding the available hours to watch a movie. Most plans of course are unlimited, but I don't even know what that means. Why a limit in the first place? Can't I put it in the DVD player and watch it on the television?

I am feeling really dumb these days :o as I try to understand some things that I have never done before. I tried to find a place for questions, but I didn't find it.

I bought the 2006 Jane Erye BBC movie and after 15 minutes fell sound to sleep. I have never done that before. I just finished the book :D and the first 15 minutes of the movie have left me highly disappointed :p. I know I could change my mind after I see the rest of the movie :), but my 1st thought was that if I could've watched it first, I could've saved myself some money as the movie was not cheap. Netflix to the rescue. But I don't get how it works.

Thanks

You will get the DVDs in the mail and can watch them on your TV.
You can also watch certain movies online, they only have so many to choose from online though.
We recently switched to Netflix and just got our first movies yesterday :)

When you sign up for Netflix, you get DVDs delivered to your home. Watching online is just an added bonus. I know in the past I've been limited to the number of hours I can watch online, but that may have changed. I don't pay attention to it because it won't work on my Mac.

I think you may be confusing two different options. You can order a dvd, which comes in the mail, you watch at your leisure, then return when you want. Or, you can watch a movie right on your computer that is streamed to you. Not all movies are available in streaming, but I've heard the amt is growing.

We have the 3 movie at a time option--we can have up to 3 physically present dvd's, plus I think we can watch an unlimited amt online. Dh tried the online option and said it was pretty good.

Netflix has excellent turn-around time. We only wait 3 days or so for movies--we return, and get the next one in our queue two days later.

Thank you ladies for expanding my comphrension level. I get it now and have joined up. I found it as boring to pick out movies online as I do standing in video rental store, but it is a much more preferable boredom.
