I'm looking into Zoology 1 for next year and the kit I found say it includes everything I would need for all the experiments.
here's the link

Is it worth it or should I just buy things as we need them?
TIA

I am thinking of doing the same thing for Apologia Astronomy. This is the link that I found for kits. It looks like it may be cheaper than the one you found.

I haven't got time right now to compare the kits, but there are kits here (http://www.hometrainingtools.com/catalog/science-kits-for-curriculum/cat_kits-for-apologia-curriculum.html) also. It doesn't look like these kits are quite as comprehensive, but they're much cheaper!

I got one from a different place and while it's nice to have it felt silly opening the box and seeing it all. I could find most around the house or purchase locally.
so yes, it's all here, but I paid for someone else to do some shopping for me. In hindsight I would have taken the time to gather it up myself.

Nature's Workshop is where Apologia recommends you purchase the science kits from for their books. I actually called them about Chemistry, but the representative said they have the Nature's Workshop kits in their warehouse in case anyone wants to order it from them.

Depends, like Tess says...do you have the time to shop around for all the materials? I bought mine for the convenience factor, since we live in a rural area, and going to the store is a major expedition...

I bought both the Astronomy, and Zoology I kits, and have been very glad I did. I am the type that if I don't have everything on hand the day of...it just does not get done. Creation Station even added the mini chocolates for us to melt in the sun...with extras because they know that the kids will end up eating some of it. The kit the OP posted looks like a pretty good deal. I paid about $80 for Zoology I I think from Creation Station, but I ended up buying a butterfly pavilion from Home Training Tools for another $20-30...OP's kit mentions butterflies and an ant farm.

I really struggled over this one... I teach a Zoology 1 co-op class and boy the cost of purchasing a kit for all the kids was more then I liked to see. I didn't do it. But with this said if it were for my family only, I just might have.
We only have 5 lesson left and we will be done with the book. I didn't have a hard time finding anything I couldn't have found on my own with ease and a lot of the stuff I already have on hand.
It is just going to be a personal preference. And remember just because you purchase a kit doesn't mean you will have "everything" you need. You will still have to gather some of the items on your own.

We got the one FunnyFarmMom mentioned at www.homesciencetools.com
the link for the kit is http://www.hometrainingtools.com/product_categories/97/products/5888-zoology---science-kit
It's only $25, and they ship really fast! It has everything we need other than common household stuff for the main experiments (we are on lesson 4 this week).

We did Astronomy this year and had no problem finding the items we needed for projects. Most items we had on hand. I usually look a week ahead so I know what we need and could pick it up on a grocery trip to Walmart. I figure, I'm going out anyway.
