I don't have any caraway. What else might be good?

TIA,
Dy

Fennel seed maybe? I have a book called Kitchen Companion put out by Williams Sonoma. It is great for questions like this...I can not tell you how many times it has been referenced in desperate moments. Anyway, good luck. :)

Leave it out. Not all rye has caraway.

I've heard that the main purpose of caraway is to help cut the gaseous properties of the rye. Let us know if you notice any difference. :)

Well, turned out I didn't have molasses, either! Wow, my pantry's gone empty the last month! LOL! So, I skipped the caraway, used honey, and they ate one of the loaves in no time at all, so I'm guessing it was a hit.

Kalanamak, I did not know that. I'll, um, let ya know if there are any, erm, repercussions tomorrow... :svengo:
