Call the doc now, or wait until Monday?

I took ds to the doc a week ago Tues. He had a sinus infection, and is finishing up his 10 days of antibiotics, today. He felt better until this past Tues, when he started coughing and complaining of headaches again. He has not had a fever until last night. His current temp is 102.3. Dh said last night to wait til Monday.

WHY do they always get sick on Fridays?

Sinus infections are really hard to get over (personal experience here).... Antibiotics may not be enough and the longer you wait the harder it may be to get rid of the infection. The doctor might try something stronger or a different antibiotic. You really should call so that the doctor can consider how to continue treating him before it gets worse.

Just my opinion and I'm sure he will be better soon. Let us know how he's feeling.

I'd call - nothing worse than a miserable sick child all weekend long. Hope he's feeling better soon.

my son has sinus infections quite often due to an IgA deficiency. I would also highly recommend sinus washes. NeilMed has one and it can be bought at most drugstores. Or I guess that a netti pot would work as well.

Call. The return of the fever, especially with the other symptoms may mean the antibiotics didn't really do the complete job.

It's still early in the workday, even for Friday. I'm sure most peds would rather you call now than have to deal with you Sat. or Sun. (Does your ped. have office hours on Saturday? More and more do, these days.)

If he's young, I'd call the doc now. If he's older, I'd let him call it.

Ok, I called. He has an appt. at 4:15. Our doc wasn't in today (she never is), but at least it is with the same doc he saw last week. Will update later.

Good for you - I think you'll be glad if nothing else for the peace of mind. I always do an evaluation on Fridays with sickies - it's a long time from Friday morning to Monday - plus it's *impossible* to get through to the office on Monday mornings.

I would call. My son just finished a bout with anitibiotics for a sinus infection and the medicine did not take care of it all. He ended up with 2 shots three days apart.
