I'm not in the bootheel, but it's where I'm from. Had to stop in and say hi! :seeya:
We're in the south central part of the state currently.

We live in Bollinger County, which is a little North and West of the bootheel. We visit family in Poplar Bluff quite often. There is a homeschool co-op there. We meet Friday mornings at 9 am. Sometimes it's a park day or field trip. Otherwise, we meet at the First Assembly of God Church (I think that's right?) which is next to American Superstore on North Westwood Blvd. (67 N). Just show up and we'll get you started.
Check out the Poplar Bluff Public Library on Main St. for homeschooling books and homeschool-friendly librarians. Also in P.B. there is the Margaret Harwell Art Museum (also on Main), a local history and sports hall of fame museum (also on Main) and a railroad museum (on 5th St., across from the Black River Coliseum). These are all donation only for admission, unless they've changed lately.
In Malden, you should be sure to visit the Bootheel Youth Museum for a field trip. It's awesome! It has an admission fee but it is worth it. Google to check that out.
There's a pumpkin farm with all the usual fall fun stuff in Blodgett, and Cate's Orchard near Dudley.
Good luck. Any questions, just pm me.

Thanks :) I would be very interested but we are about an hour and a half from Poplar Bluff. We are only a few miles from Blytheville, AR.

I am originally from the area but only return to visit family. I so know homeschoolers in Cape and Sikeston if that helps any. I could help connect you if you would like.
