for a 1st & 2nd grader or should we just try to answer the questions orally?

I think you could do this very well orally! You could have the 2nd grader copy the words onto regular paper for extra practice if you wanted (like in the book). Flashcards are also really helpful.

We've been doing this orally. The flashcards are definitely great! Next year we start LC I and I'll use workbooks, but Prima is so gentle and they will be just fine!

You could easily do Prima Latina orally. My younger (1st grader) does it orally -- no workbook at all for her; she just watches the DVD and memorizes the vocab & prayers. My older child does the workbook in addition to the DVD & memorization.
