My 3rd dc is in her 3rd year of Smarr Literature for our high school English, so American Lit. I finally told her a week or so ago to write each lesson's vocabulary words on index cards and the definitions on the back because she was really struggling with the vocabulary quizzes.
I can understand why I wouldn't have thought of this when my oldest did these, cause he'd always had an above average vocabulary. But here my poor dd and her older brother (2nd dc) have been slogging through this stuff and getting frustrated.
Dd is already saying she's glad I'm having her do this. I'm apologizing to her profusely.
I share so someone can learn from my experience.
