Is SL core 3 and/or 4 too old for this age group? I was also considering MFW adventures. They love SOTW but it is also geared for older students as well as VP.
Thank you,

Lisa,
Here is what I am doing for American History with my then 7 yr old girl and 4 yr. old boy.
I will be using The Childrens Encyclopedia of American History. I have split our year into these categories
1. Explorers of North America
2. Colonial Life/Colonies
3. American Revolution/A New Government
4. Moving West/Pioneer Life
Obviously each one has some smaller categories involved.
I am going to read the appropriate pages n the Encyclopedia I mentioned. I am going to read certain chapters of SOTW 3 that correlate. This also gives me some coloring pages/maps from the Actvitiy Guide. We will also do some crafts or projects that I am piecing together from books like : Colonial Projects for Kids. And we will be reading lots of living books. I am working on getting all of this on my blog but its not quite done yet. If you want to check back in a few days hopefully my projects and book lists will be up. I had to purchase SOTW 3 for my daughters co-op class and I chose to do the American History emphasis here at home. Hope this helps.
