McGuffey Readers--Where to Start w/4 and 6 graders?

I'd appreciate any tips, examples of how you're using these in your schoolwork. We've done very little formal grammar lessons (just narration from literature). TIA!

I was a grad school widow last year, LOL! :D

We use the ones from Mott Media; I don't know if there are any differences in other editions, but... Your 4th grader would probably start with the Second Reader, and your 6th grader would be the Second or Third Reader.
