CM LA for first grade....

I read up on CM on ambleside online. The way I understand it, we need to work on reading (phonics, sight words), handwriting (forming the letters correctly) and oral narration.

I do not add in anything else until later, the first to add would be copywork, and nothing else until third grade is this right?

That's right! Unless you count poetry. I just read the same poem (short) to my dc for a couple of weeks. Voila- they would have it memorized!
