A friend of mine is seeing if there would be any interest in a Carole Joy Seid (http://www.carolejoyseid.com/) seminar. Apparently, in order for a seminar to be booked, there needs to be a LOT of interest. I've never been to a seminar, but listened to her on CD. GREAT!!!
For those of you who are not familiar with her, she speaks on Literature-based education, teaching children to love books, etc. Not only does she talk about great books, but she also gives out ALL her booklists, resources, etc. AND she even BRINGS the literature she speaks about TO THE SEMINARS for the participants to PURCHASE. These are GREAT books (think D'Aulaire, Foster, etc.).
So.... just trying to get an idea for my friend.
The seminar (if it happens) would probably be somewhere in the Bay Area, maybe East Bay.
