Chime in if you are interested. I'll set it up, at a date to be determined by ME with NO INPUT from ANY OF YOU. It will be at COHOs in REDMOND. It will be sometime LATE FEBRUARY. How do you like them apples? :p
Remember, even if I end up ALONE, our family motto will carry the day: If you're bored, it's not my fault; you should have brought a book.
So if you want to come, chime in. I'll get a reservation for *approximately* xyz people--and we'll have a great time.
(By the way, if you know of someone who hasn't logged in here yet, give her the word so she can come, too. logged in, waterlogged, logjammed, or otherwise beloggered.
Kind regards, if somewhat sassy tonight,

Okay, this is just weird. I was just getting on to post one! I was going to use my birthday as the reason (like we need one). Count me in!
And Patty, I miss you!! I am available for a phone call tomorrow if you can squeeze one in....

Good. Now I don't have to bring a book!
I might call tomorrow. I might leave town for good tomorrow. I might go to my room, put my head in my hands, squeeze hard and say, ala Scarlett O'Hara, "I can't think about this anymore. I'll think about it tomorrow, when I can stand it. Aftuh all, tuhmahrah ISSS anothuh DAY!" (Cue the violins.)
Sigh.

I'm in! That is, depending on the date. And depending on if I can eat anything. Actually it doesn't matter if I can't eat anything - I'll order mint tea and just talk!:p

Jean, one of the reasons I choose Coho's is because they are so GREAT about getting you just what you need. I have eaten there on my LDA (serious allergy) rotation diet and they have been wonderful. I was on a meat-only diet sitting next to a gal who ate only vegan and they took our orders with great seriousness and grace, and I won't forget that.
I look forward to seeing you. I'll look at the calendar and set the date tomorrow or Saturday, of course, at a time to suit MEMEME.
Grin--I mean --where ARE those emoticons????

Thanks, Patty. I'm so frustrated with this diet right now (I'm going to post another thread about it). But I really do like Coho's. And I like the present company better!

I didn't mention him- I thought I remembered something from last year about you not enjoying sharing a birthday with him. I also didn't mention Gorbachev, Desi Arnaz, and Karen Carpenter. We really are quite a bunch, aren't we?
Are we the same age, Colleen? I will be 43. I am not feeling old at all, which surprises me. Maybe it was losing that 20 lbs. I just know I am really looking forward to my birthday this year. I have big plans this year, that probably helps.

Puh-leeze!!!! What are you even thinking to add four years to my youth (cough, cough)? I'll be 39. I have zero planned, so a night with friends right around that time would be nice. Might tie in well, too, to a trip down the corridor. My mother is turning 75 that same weekend and I know my dad would like us to do something special for her.
Congratulations on the weight loss, btw. You go, girl!

I know, I know, Patty and LB, I deserve 30 lashes with a wet noodle. I have really good excuses, though. About 160 of which moo while the other 5 walk upright. And hey, I've got a heckuvva lot more ground to cover to get down there than most of you!

I agree!! Get thee over here!!
If Patty's house fills up, I have a futon in my living room, lol. My rustic farmhouse is not nearly as nice as her house, though.

Yeah, whipping you with a wet noodle is about the harshest thing I could come up with. BUt it would be good to see you, and it would be good for you to get away from all those cow and boy hormones for a bit.
By the way, we are going to be in Bellingham for my birthday- do you by any chance know of any B & B's I should check into? So far the ones I have found on the internet are mostly closed till April.

Hey, now! What's this? You say you have big plans for your birthday and you're going to be in Bellingham? Now I need all the details!
Can't say I have any real knowledge when it comes to B&Bs 'round these parts. Not a one even comes to mind, in fact. The only place I would recommend without hesitation is The Willows, over on Lummi Island (www.willows-inn.com). Or you could check out the Fairhaven Village Inn (www.fairhavenvillageinn.com) ~ haven't stayed there myself, but it's in such a great spot.

Well, thank you, because those are more for me to research , and I was beginning to fret over it. I hate planning these kinds of things.
So. The Plan: I have wanted one of these (http://www.handmadedrums.com/conga24aep.htm) for about 5 years, since I first saw one at Folklife. This drum-maker is up in the Bellingham area. So the Dude and I (ok, just me, but he loves me,lol) thought it would be fun to run away for the weekend, buy me a drum, and then spend our time at a B& B. Without kids! The last time we did this was 2 years ago, when he took me to Whidbey, and we celebrated at a wonderful quilting store there. Only thing was, I started crying on SUnday morning , because I was so not wanting to go home yet! I am determinded to just go with the flow and enjoy every minute of it this year.
How's that for a plan?!http://easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-cute-smileys-271.gif (http://easyfreesmileys.com/)

I leave for Ecuador the day before. I will think about you all while I am on my 13 hour flight! YIKES!!!!
At least I managed to find a return flight that did not involve stopping and changing planes in Bogota, Mexico City, and Los Angeles before reaching Seattle. Or the other option of having a 10 hour layover in Atlanta. Or flying from Ecuador to NYC, then out West. It took HOURS on the Delta website and then the phone with Delta to get a doable flight with 3 kids.
I don't return until the middle of April, so I hope we can do it again after that.
