My kids love the book Roxaboxen. They've since created an imaginary land in our woods with homes and stores and even a 3 foot deep well to catch rain water (ewww). They will be out there for hours and hours! I love it.
Last week hubby and I went out and cut back the new thistle bushes so they can move easier and my dd and I blazed and lined a trail to the entrance of the woods (mainly so I can find them easier!). They were so happy that we "played" with them!
They even have a big fallen down tree that is Fort Irene, another area by a stone wall that is Fort McHenry (can you tell what we studied that week?).
I didn't want them going too far so I named another tree "The Entrance to the Dark Zone" so they wouldn't want to go that far! LOL!
They are having so much fun I hate to have them come in for school!
