How to find/convert pictures small enough for avatar?

Everything on my computer is bigger than 80x80 pixels or 19.5 KB, and everything I find online that I like is bigger, too. How do I convert them?

What photo application are you using on your computer? I'm on a Mac and using iPhoto. That application gives me the option to scale images to the size of my choice when exporting to the desktop. Maybe your program has a similar option?

As for finding things online...I'd either import it into my iPhoto account and follow the above steps, or I'd go to a "free avatars" site (Google it) and choose something there.

Don't you love the Mac??? It was so easy.

Before I realized I had this option (i.e. I didn't ask my computer whiz dd :) I did a search for "100x100 pixels" or something like that.
