We should find out this week if my husband got the job in DC and I'm looking around for homeschool co-ops etc. I don't know if we'll be in VA or MD but I wanted to see what is out there:) If you have a great area you live in I appreciate those suggestions too!

We live in DC (yep, in the city itself). I used to be the mod of an area preschool homeschooling group and now we have an elementary age homeschooling group spinoff. There are a lot of good homeschooling groups in the area - in VA and MD. And it's a great place for homeschooling because of all the free resources in the city - museums, performances, zoo, parks, etc.

We live in Maryland (Anne Arundel County), there are co-ops and homeschoolers everywhere! I belong to two different co-ops; one that offers Art, Music and P.E and Classical Conversations. My gym offers homeschool P.E twice a week and we get a personal trainer to whip the moms into shape.

We have so many places around here that offer HS programs it's unreal :) Martial Arts, Music, Art, Foreign language classes... most local businesses, like Gyms, etc. have special HS programs. All the Smithsonian museums, etc. in the area have HS days and such. I. LOVE. THIS. AREA!

I have found that I need to be more quiet when I'm out and about about being a HS'er b/c SO many people will start asking about it b/c they want to do it or wish they could do it, want to know what co-op I use, etc. LOL :) I talk about it ad nauseum when we are out and about and have never had any negative comments :)

You really couldn't ask for a better place to Homeschool!

Thank you both! It seems like a great area to homeschool. I'm excited:) Right now we are mostly looking in the VA area but who knows!
