We are searching for a spelling program for 12 yo. ds and 8 yo. ds for next year. I remember looking (listening) to this at a homeschool convention two years ago, but I can't remember much about it. Are there any samples onile that I am missing? Thank you for your help.

It's working with my 12 yo son, he's actually retaining rules learned. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0034.gif (http://www.emailblacklistcheck.com)

I think it's on the 1st IEW dvd that Andrew Pudewa mentions the Phonetic Zoo. He says that spelling is a sequential skill-the letters need to go into the brain in a specific order-and therefore it makes more sense to learn it in an auditory way. In most spelling programs, information is taken in visually, meaning the whole word is seen at once. But spelling is the sequential ordering of letters that represent specific sounds in words, so auditory learning makes more sense. He says the program is "like Suzuki for spelling," and mentions that in spelling bees, everything is done orally; there's no writing whatsoever. I hope this makes sense. I'm tired! Hopefully, I haven't jumbled it all too much!
