My dd's classical bent in education showed today

when we went to a Bible conference. One of the clergy there was teaching something from the NT and pointed out how when a certain word was used of people was followed by the dative case and when it was used regarding God it's followed by the accusative case or is intransitive. Dd muttered under her breath, "This sounds like Latin Grammar."

When I was 12 I'd never heard of accusative and dative cases.

Isn't it fun?

Two weeks ago I took dd to a planetarium show at a local college. Not only did she blow the (college) instructors away by asking a very intelligent and appropriate question, but she entertained them for several minutes after the class identifying all the Latin names of the constellations and telling what they mean. She's 8... the looks on their faces were priceless ;)
