Any good ideas for 6th grade middle ages history? I did SOTW book 1 with my now 5th grade ds this year and he loved it. Haven't seen book 2 but think it is recommended for grades 1-4 (?). Wondering if it would not be in depth enough. Anyone use it for a 11-12 yr old?
Thanks!

If he loved the last one do the next by all means. Just add a few harder books.

Well, sonlight core 6 uses SOTW books 1 and 2 with other books added. Maybe you could look at their catalog or website and see what you could add to bring it up to speed.

along with read-louds, readers, and some reading out of Kingfisher.
There aren't discussion questions, but we do it together. Adding in their suggested readers, etc. might be a great way to get what you want.

I think it also works great with grades 5-8. You can always add in some extra reading and/or outlining to supplement.

We are doing 6th grade this year. I used a combination of SOTW vol 2, MOH vol 2, and Streams of Civilization vol 1. I added read alouds and readers as appropriate.

Thank you for all of your input! I am always so worried about making sure he is 'on grade level' - you all really helped me relax and reinforced what I wanted to do - use SOTW 2!
Thanks
