View Full Version : Latin Prep - Two Questions

OK, we just decided today to toss the book we are using in my co-op Latin class (hooray!) and go with Latin Prep for the rest of the year (another big HOORAY!)

Now I have two questions that I'm hoping you can all help me with:

1) What ages are your children that are using Latin Prep right now? and

2) Is anybody aware of any tests that have been made up already for these books?

I am using Latin Prep with a newly 10 year old (started when he was 9) and an 11 year old (nearly 12). The older one moves faster than the younger, and has had previous Latin.

I don't know about tests, though.

I'm using LP with my 12 yr-old dd. We don't test in the traditional sense but do lots of review and a "pop" quiz now and then. Since the information builds, you know rather quickly if something is not being retained.

Calvin is eleven, using Latin Prep 2. I just quiz him on vocabulary and grammar as we go along: I keep a running list of things to learn in the back of his exercise book.

My ds is 10.5 and using this. We started it when he was 10 (the beginning of the school year).

We work along and then stop and review when I see he isn't retaining the info or just needs more practice.

My dd is 12 and we do the same as the other posters. I drill her and review. If I notice she's having trouble with something we take time to go over it. It's pretty easy to tell when they have trouble understanding something.

I'm not aware of one for just Latin Prep but there is one for all the Galore Park products. Latin Prep is the most discussed. There is alot of great help there.

And we use the workbooks too which are helping to cement the material.
She has had previous Latin but this is working better than LFC.
