Looking at buying a new printer ...

I've never actually purchased a printer before. I have just been using the one I got in my last divorce (almost 5 years ago now). It finally stopped working.

I don't have a lot of money so I don't want an expensive one. What would be a good inexpensive printer to buy? Does it matter what kind of computer I have? I know nothing about this kind of thing.

I love my hp 1315 all-in-one printer, scanner, copier. I think it cost around $100 four years ago and should be compatible with most computers. It uses a USB cord. That's the extent of my computer knowledge about it.

I bought a Brother All in One MFC 5840 from Staples and love it.
