For those of you who have used TT grade 7 and pre-algebra, how much of the pre-algebra is just review from the grade 7 book.
My 14yo ds is SO behind in math. He does have a math LD, but we've also been involved in a homeschool tutorial program for the past few years that has caused us to not do math everyday. That has greatly contributed to him getting so behind.
This summer we will continue on with math. I always say we will, but then we don't. I've got dh involved and he is holding me accountable to make sure ds does his math DAILY this summer.
Anyway, that's a sidenote:)... Ds is now working through TT gr. 6. He's on lesson 22. The ONLY thing he has struggled with is long division. He has trouble multi-stepping. Long division was a problem when he used MUS too. But he's doing great on all the other concepts. He's not gotten to the fractions yet, so I'm holding my breath about the concepts in that chapter.
He should finish TT gr. 6 sometime in the fall. I would LOVE to be able to put him into the pre-algebra book. Him being behind in math is going to very quickly catch up to his ability to take the sciences he needs.
What can I do? Is there anything I could use to supplement the gr. 6 (like any of the Key Too workbooks?) to get him ready for the pre-algebra? Or could he probably go right from the grade 6 to pre-algebra?
