2 Questions about Writing Tales

I have a soon to be 5th grader. We have not done a formal writing program as of yet. (We have tried WS but it just wasn't what worked) Anyway, would you start with 1??

What happens when you complete WT 2? Where do you go next?

who is in the same boat. He's done a little in Wordsmith Apprentice, does narrations and some copywork now. I'll have WT1 for my ds8 so if WT2 is too difficult, I'll have that to fall back on. BUT, looking at the samples (I have the TM and am just waiting on the student text), it doesn't look all that daunting. After WT? Many suggest going to CW Homer. For us, I don't know. I might just go w/ Jump In! b/c dd11 will already have it. I'm praying that SWB will have the middle school book of WWE out before ds8 gets there! :)
