We would like to test the girls at the end of 3rd grade, next school year.

What are my options for testing, where do you get them and are there any test prep books good for preparing them for the test taking procedure?

Thanks

Here in California is the "STAR" testing for all public schools. We HS through a charter, so our kids will be tested next week.
We use "Perfection Learning" for review of LA, Math, and Science (for our 5th grader)
Try them at perfectionlearning.com
Lots of practice. Very good!
Good luck! MOKI4:001_smile:

Here is my short list in no particular order. (I've used Seton's CAT, BJU's ITBS and the FLO testing.)hth:D

I'm in a state that requires testing for the way that I file, and I use Seton for 1st-2nd and the PASS from Hewitt for 3rd-6th. I prefer those because there are no hoops to jump through for me to test at home, and they're relatively inexpensive. After that we'll probably switch to group testing with the Stanford to get them ready for college tests.

As for prep, it's really up to you. Somehow I've never had time for test prep, and my children have done just fine. They work independently a lot though. They are used to reading directions and have taken tests from the beginning. Filling ovals doesn't phase them either. So it depends on your situation and what your expectations are.

Our local homeschool support group offers Stanford Achievement testing through BJUP each May. I use the Scoring High test prep materials found at Rainbow Resource. Even though our state doesn't require testing, many homeschoolers participate in this testing opportunity.
