How does a person who weighs 146 loose 11 pounds in one week!?!?! She looks awesome!

I have only watched a few episodes and found it soooooooooooo amazing that they have worked so hard to achieve their goals. DH doesn't care much for it so I didn't watch it last night.

Who lost 11 lbs? (I am bad with names, so I will need a description). Was it the black haired lady who came back onto the show? My favorite is the other lady (the blond lady who's ex was her partner). I hope she is still on the show.

Spill it for me please!

Or better yet, can you watch it online?

I didn't think she had another 11 lbs. to lose! I really want her to win! She has worked so hard and come so far. Very inspiring. Can't wait until next week.

I can't imagine Ali winning if Roger stays. He has the potential of losing over 50% of his body weight, I don't think Ali does.

Jillian must be an incredible trainer. She consistently beats Bob and this year he got to pick his team. Who would have thought 2 women would beat all those big guys. I'm tempted to buy one of her dvds. :001_smile:

The black haired lady (Ali) lost 11 lbs and the blonde (Kelly) lost 12 lbs. Both are in the finals and America gets to vote in either Mark (the Bostonian brother) or Roger (the ex-football player with the southern accent). I voted for Roger. His jockiness annoys me, but to lose 146 lbs in 15 weeks is mind blowing to me and he is the biggest loser.

You have to remember also that they are not losing 11 pounds at those low weights their FIRST week (or 2nd, 3rd, or 6th even).

On the Power90 board, you often see the biggest fat and pound loss in the 3rd month though the results the first couple months are awesome also.

They have worked HARD to get their metabolisms working FOR them, to get their muscles in a position to burn those calories on a daily basis, etc. Sure, they work hard each week also, but it really does snowball in many ways.

Well and also after (a) weeks of losing less (or plateaus), there may well be a BIG loss next. I haven't seen the show in a couple weeks, but some were losing only a few pounds and were disappointed, but assuming they were eating enough, exercising properly, etc, they would turn around and have some bigger losses.

BTW, I did look at Jillian's stuff. But I think I need Jillian herself and something tells me I can't afford to have her come here and help me lose 80-90 pounds <sigh>

who has become BUFF at the ranch, ever. I don't think she can win because she has nothing left to lose, nothing. She has already lost everything she needed to.

I so hope that is true for me.

I know. I was thinking the same thing. BUT, it is so unfair to have come soooo far and not really have a chance at the grand prize just b/c you reached your "goal" before everyone else, KWIM? Seems like the "rules" should change!

if they did have a different body-goal for a woman versus a man. Most of the women there have no hope of losing 50% or more of their body weight healthfully -- a healthy fat percentage for a woman is between 18-23. 18% is REALLY lean, and below that, women stop ovulating and can have negative health impacts from being too thin.

Men, however, can safely be in the low teens and even single digits for fat percentage -- so men can *always* lose more weight healthfully than a woman.

Now, if they took contestants on who were all about equal (had roughly the same amount of weight to lose, safely whether men or women), it would be more fair.

But c'mon. A man that has close to 150 pounds to lose (more than 50% weight loss) versus a woman who has 45% or less?

I want Kelly or Ali to win, badly. I think Ali deserves it most, because she never went below the yellow line, and because she did most of it on her own. Kelly -- if she keeps losing 10+ pounds a week these last few weeks has a real shot at it as well (as long as Roger isn't in the finals).

I think Roger is a shoe in, if America votes him into the finals.

From a game stand point I agree. However, what they gained far outweighs the prize money. I believe they still get something for 2nd and 3rd place.

I was just looking at the website, and at week 15 each had lost:

Roger - 40%
Kelly - 34%
Ali - 42%
Mark - 41%

Even though Kelly has the lowest percentage, she has a better chance of losing more at home than Ali or Mark. Roger I'm not sure about -- he has a larger build, and I just don't see him getting much below 200. Then again, I didn't think Mark should go below 180!

I think *ALL* of the contestants should win a prize for making the commitment and allowing so many to be inspired by their journey.

Well, Ali did it. She sure looks great. The fact that they shortened the time the finalists were home certainly worked in her favor, normally they go home for 4 months or so before the finale, this time it was only six weeks. To lose 112 lbs in 21 weeks is mind blowing.

I'm so happy she won. SHe deserved it. Actually, they all looked phenomenal! Kelli really overcame some obstacles and looks terrific. My dh and I laughed about Roger's weight loss. I said, "dh, he lost a whole you!". Really, my dh is very thin and doesn't weigh much!

I was impressed by the people who were voted off early and came back looking like they did. Danny (the young blond guy w/ glasses) and his mom (the blond woman)...looked super! She really lost the lbs and did the majority of it AT HOME! Wow! It's the older women who impress me the most b/c we all know how difficult it is to lose weight when we are older and our metabolism slows down, KWIM?

I was so glad Bernie won the 100,000 and not mark or jay they just annoyed me.

Ali and Kelly both worked so hard and deserved it. It really is not impossible to loose that kind of weight. You can not eat sweets, breads etc. it's all pure heathy eating and strict exercise. I lost 30lb last year when I exercised 1 hour per day and cut out all bread and sweets it was easy. Then the holidays came and I didn't loose any but did gain 3lbs back. I am back on my diet and exercise program to loose the last 10.
