Which is more effective and why?

I think I'd like the lifepacs better because you get to write in a workbook, but I'm not sure. Can a child with no Spanish knowledge succeed with the lifepacs? I have enough Spanish knowledge to be able to help dd some.
Can use this program without the CDs if I do the speaking and listening part with her? I do know how to pronounce Spanish correctly.
Has anyone had a good experience with these?

Thanks!

My dd is doing SOS Spanish I, and I just received the Lifepac set with cd(s) for my ds. I can't tell you any more than that yet. Maybe in a few weeks I'll be able to give you an update/opinion.

I decided that my ds would never be able to move ahead with the SOS program. He has to have a book to which he can refer as needed. With SOS, he would have had to have written his own. Languages are not my son's thing, so I'm hoping lifepacs will be simple enough to get him learning.

Dd loves languages and is doing wonderfully with the SOS program. She doesn't mind writing out the information and is very good at spelling and memorization.
