Well, my little Rav gets filled up about three times per month, and that costs me about $120. Dh has a company car, so I don't know how much his would actually be, but I'm sure it would be at least as much as what I'm spending, so - long answer short - no; with gas prices what they are, yours doesn't seem too high.

We just bought an used van so I know that ours will be going up. My dh drives a little 5 speed metro so he gets great gas milage. I would guess that we will be spending at least $200 a month on gas.

Gas is killing us. I spent 76.xx yesterday to fill up my SUV. I'm not driving anywhere other than what is necessary!!! If my parents want to see the kids, they'll have to come here. They have a PRIUS!!! That 52 mpg beats mine with a stick!

We have a Camry and a Rav4. I've been tracking our fuel expenses for a year and it varies from $160 to $270 per month. The average is $220.

I don't keep track because I don't want to know. :001_huh:
We try to keep our mileage down by combining trips, driving into Seattle during non-peak hours to reduce the time we sit in traffic, etc.
I have been making one or two 60 mile round trip drives to my grandmother's home each week, when I used to only visit every other week.
Other than that, though, we've done a great job of reducing our fuel consumption.

We have 2 cars, I barely go anywhere because I don't want to use the gas, and we still spend $350/mo. We don't even have SUV's or a van!
We live in a town kind of secluded from the big city, so to go anywhere, like the store, takes some time. It's 25 miles, or 40 min. one way for dh to go to work each day. On Monday's, he and dd go to a Bible study another 25 miles away - so Monday's alone he puts on over 100 miles on his Taurus. Thankfully (in this aspect anyway), Bible study will be over for the summer in about 4 weeks.
Anyway, $350/mo. It hurts...badly!

DH's commuter car finally broke down, and he had to borrow his Dad's van to get to work.
I think it was very close to $480 last month just for him to get to work.
I don't drive much, so add on another $60 (That's how much it costs to fill up my van once) for me. So about $540... IF I only fill up once/month.
Actually, this month I've been driving a LOT more to get to dance lessons in an area 30 miles away. I don't really want to know how much the gas total will be by the end of the month.
DH just bought a new commuter car. We couldn't afford a hybrid, but the little car he bought gets really good gas mileage (Honda Fit), especially compared to the van he was borrowing.
Even with new car payments we'll either stay about the same or even come out a little ahead. DH does have a very long commute. Too bad we couldn't afford a hybrid back when they were giving out commuter lane stickers with them!
At the dealers, the salesman commented that if you're in the market for a gas guzzling truck, you can pick one up dirt cheap right now. ;) I'd consider it to get a good hauling vehicle for the horse trailer, except that I can't really afford another car payment OR gas to fill up and haul the horses all that much anyway!!
Let me tell ya, I am having a fit of "little car" envy right now. I love my Sienna, but it's just so tempting to squish the kids into a little car... I wouldn't end up driving their friends everywhere... the Honda Fit really has quite a lot of room for such a little car; plenty for groceries in the back...
I'd be so tempted to do it except that we need a car that will fit the 6 of us comfortably when step-dd is visiting with us. The Sienna will fit all 6, plus FIL if we all go out together for dinner.

I'll trade you! Because I use Quicken I was able to do a report check and determine that we averaged just over $500/month for the last 3 months!:ack2: Just shoot me now! :svengo:
We have a Toyota Sienna and a Tundra. Dh drives 15 mi one way to work each day. I do lots of driving to various events throughout the week. All the while, though, I am EVER mindful of how to combine trips. Something's got to give somewhere....
We have 2 Pruises. Our gas bill is very nice, finally. I gas up about every 2 weeks and it is in the $20 range. Mine gets about 35 mpg adn DH's gets about 45. His is newer, and he drives 'better' than I do. We have 2 kids, but one could easily fit 3 kids in teh backseat.
I would guess that our gas is about $100-150/mo.

Our gas has been outrageous the past two months. DH's prelude is disassembled in the garage while he works on the engine (he's waiting on the head bolts he ordered and then he can put it completely back together). He's riding with a buddy most days, but sometimes he has used the suburban all week, and it's just awful.
I spent about $130 filling it up last week- it was a wee bit below 1/4 of a tank. We've easily spent $300, just using the Suburban. I can not wait till DH's car is running again. Normally we fill the Suburban up once a month (unless we make a long trip), and he fills his Prelude up every week. $75 for the truck, $35 for the Prelude for each fill.

Ahhh! I am  over your gas bill. Good for you! :thumbup1:
I tried to convince DH to get a Prius, even though the commuter stickers are all gone... he ran the calculations and it was just better for him to get the Honda Fit, even considering gas prices. (For our budget.)
But man! $20 every two weeks to fill up! ::swoon::

$483. Dh works 20 miles from home and ds's activities are 10 - 20 miles from home. Dh works 5 days a week and ds has activites in town 5 days a week. We actually turn down opportunities because they are even further and we just can't take the time and the gas to drive further. But....we knew this when we moved to a rural area!

We drive a pair of used Saturns, each of which gets right around 30 miles per gallon. My husband works 15 minutes from home and fills the tank on his car only about 3 times per month. I, on the other hand, drive our son all over town, sometimes multiple locations in a single day. AND I'm the one who makes the 1600-mile round trips to our daughter in Virginia. We figured out recently that during this academic year, I've been averaging 100 miles of driving per day.
When I'm home and just doing our regular running around, I fill up probably 5 or 6 times a month, so between $150 and $200 just for my car, plus another $90 or so for my husband's.

Yes. The bulk of my driving is to educational opportunities for my highschool dd that are *worth* the drive to us (lab sciences, foreign languages, etc).
