If you are using an older version of Microsoft Money can you update to a newer version without having to start over from scratch?

I had five years of Money on my computer. My dh decided to start over so he saved the old file on a disk somewhere and then deleted it from my computer. He installed the brand new version and a new method of implementing it. Well, this is definitely not working for me. Now I can't find the file he saved on a disk so I may have lost the last five years of info.

I can find an old version of Money (2003) that I have installed but it is not the version I was using. My question is if I can find the newer version that I was using, can I update without having to re-input all of the work I have done so far which consisted of inputting all info since Jan. 1 of this year.

If I find the disk that I saved my info to can I over write the old (2003) version with the new version that I was using? I would even be happy if I can find the saved file with my five years of info and just add the I hav perfect the way I likeit,

Any I guess am done for now. I am fallins sleep now, If you have any info I am all ears, :bigear: Thnks so much.

But I am almost positive that Microsoft Money has a function where you can import information from a backup file. That's the entire purpose of a backup file. So, in theory, you would import the information from this backup file into your new version of Microsoft Money and all should go fairly smoothly.

Also, there may be a command/option to "import from an older version" the way that you can with Microsoft Word documents.

HTH - and P.S. I'm not looking forward to having to do this soon with my own MM files. We have been using the same program (2003) for the last four years. Whenever we upgrade our puter, we'll upgrade our Money program.
