I am considering TT for my dd next year. She will be in the 5th grade, but I am looking at the 6th grade TT.
After that I am planning on moving her to Chalkdust Basic Math.
Will this be an easy transition for her or should I look for a different math for this coming year?
I have asked about Chalkdust's 5th grade, but have not received any feedback.

I used TT for Prealgebra and Algebra II, then switched to Chalkdust for Algebra and Precalculus. My DD who had never liked math finally understood math with TT's Prealgebra and did very well, but when we started Chalkdust Algebra she was completely lost. We've spent most of this school year using ALEKS to catch up with her Prealgebra, and she has just started CD Algebra again and understands it now. My son didn't have as difficult a time transitioning from Algebra II to Precalc, but he is more mathematically minded and had been using ALEKS all summer before he started on Precalc. My conclusion was that TT wasn't rigorous enough for our particular situation, and we won't use it again. I don't know how this will apply to the earlier maths or to your situation in particular, but look at samples of each and maybe do a search for other information on both programs.

My 6th grade son was using TT6 and I decided to switch him to ChalkDust Basic Math (6th grade.) So far he is doing *ok.*

I had him take the placement test with CD after doing most of TT6 and it said he was nowhere near ready for pre-algebra.

The transition has not been too hard, I believe since he is still so young.
