Anyone interested in joining the American Heritage Girls in Pittsburgh?

I took my 11 yr old dd out of Girl Scouts (long story) and promised her we would join American Heritage Girls, but alas, no troop in the Pittsburgh area. So I told her we would start one this summer. If there is anyone on the area who light be interested please let me know; they have groups for all ages, 5 through high school.

She'd probably like a PP too, if anyone is interested.

I just wanted to send you a little encouragement! We didn't have a Troop in our town so I talked to a few friends who were willing to back me up. :) I filled out all the paperwork, they wrote me references, then I approached the pastor of a church (we do attend there but at the time had only been attending for a month!) to charter us.

And now we have a troop! I sent out emails through our homeschool group and so far we have 13 girls signed up. We haven't started meetings yet. When AHG sent the start up box it came with a check list of how to get the troop off the ground. Very helpful.

How old do you have to be. How old is your daughter? who is going to be the charter sponsor? Keep us posted on the info.

That's wonderful!!! Have you already sent in all your paperwork? We start our meetings in a couple weeks and the girls are very excited. We got our handbooks this week.
