What course names do you use for NEM levels? Wouldn't a college want to see classes like, Algebra II, Geometry, Trig, etc.? Just curious how you handle this.

This is a breakdown I copied from the Singapore forums quite some time ago:
NEM 1 - Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry
NEM 2 - Algebra 1, Geometry
NEM 3 - Algebra 2/Trigonometry/Advanced math
I don't know if that helps, but I thought I'd share it anyway. :001_smile:

I haven't used the transcript yet, but my son's says Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3 for NEM1-3. I put a star at the bottom saying these were algebra 1, 2, and geometry.

We didn't use Singapore math, but we did use Saxon (in which algebra and geometry and trig are also integrated). We found that colleges don't care about course titles, but rather an indication that algebra, geometry, etc. have been studied. We titled our courses something like "Algebra I with Geometry", "Algebra II with Geometry", "Pre-Calculus with Geometry and Trigonometry". I used footnotes to indicate that the equivalent of a full year's study of geometry was completed throughout those three courses. I also included course descriptions that detailed the topcs covered in each course, leaving no doubt.

Thank you! While we haven't decided exactly what we'll use after 6B, I'll definitely be considering NEM, and this was a concern of mine. I also didn't realize that Saxon integrated the courses too. It's good to know that it's not just SM.
Thanks again!
