View Full Version : How many booKshelves do you own?

Ahem, not the kind you put reading material on ok? So how many booKshelves do you have that you actually use? Include sports booKshelves but not that strapless number you haven't worn since collage that happens to be shoved in the back of your underwear drawer.
I am trying to prove to my dh that I need more than I have, so I need scientific data! :D

Somehow I doubt my measly number will help but if it does help you can tell him although I only have three I do have a gift card from MIL to go to vs to get more. (yes I think it is weird too that mil gives me those for my bday) In my defense I keep changing sizes and can't justify getting more than two at a time.

Ha! I voted in the poll before I read your post! Funny thing is, the answer is the same!:D

Does anyone know if taking part of a poll counts toward the total number of posts that you've made? I have 4 booKselves by the way. :)

Ditto! And I'm glad I didn't mention the bookshelf that I just freecycled! :o
I only utilize about 4 booKshelves on a regular basis though. We do need about four more bookshelves, though.

OK, well good thing I read your thread first, because I have a lot fewer BooK shelves than I do actually bookshelves. I went to a Bare Essentials Bodyware party last fall and spent $70 on a bra  . I still can't believe it....but let me tell you it is the BEST bra that I have ever owned, now it did take about a week to get used to it, my BooKs were so sore at night from being pushed up to where they are SUPPOSED to be. I ended up buying a Le Mystere (I think that's how you spell it) bra off of e-bay for about $30 shipped, now it is almost identical, but I still prefer to wear the EBW bra.

Only one. I am so small busted that if I wear the right shirt, then I don't have to wear one around the house. I'm home practically all the time, so it works for me. When I get extra money, I generally buy books, not booKshelves. ha ha ha

I have five. Four are the regular type of booKshelf, in various colors, and one is of the sports-variety. I hope that helped your cause! :)

That a woman needs one for every imaginable occasion, and then one for every occasion she can't imagine (but he can!)
That oughta get him pulling the old wallet out, LOL!

THANK YOU!!! I thought we were out of our minds. Currently own 13 bookshelves and we need more again. Discovered an empty space on staircase to perhaps design built-ins.
I swear we could use bookshelves in the Suburban also :P

oops, I voted too soon, too. change one of those 10 or mores to...I dunno, maybe 4-6? does it count if half of them don't fit me anymore after years of having babies and nursing?

We have 12 and that's about half what we need --- most shelves still have books stacked two layers deep. We've already done our first IKEA run and procured enough shelving to organize most of the books and materials directly related to homeschooling. Yay us. :)

I have 5 regular ones (3 everyday ones that can be worn under any color shirt and a couple special occasion colors IYKWIM;).) I also have 3 sports shelves because I workout 4 -5 days a week and these need to be washed everyday.)
I decided to splurge after wearing nursing shelves for over 10 years.

Totally on the floor after spitting my tea across my computer! Um, I own about four, which I use on a regular basis, and not the 13 I voted on in the poll. I do have a few others for special outfits, a night out with hubby or for the w/o.

but, I have about the same. (5-6) Do need to buy more though!! :)Mine are falling apart, and are too small.:o I could really use more bookshelves too. I have 6 real bookshelves and need at least 1 or more. We have at least 5 boxes of books in the "shed."

So what does it mean if I have more bookshelves than I have booKshelves?
I said 4-6 but only 3 are regular ones, then I have 2 of the sports variety that I wear for TKD. I think I need more regular ones.

I think we need to adjust the original typo and start using bOOkshelves to make it a little more obvious, lol.

I probably have more than that, but there are about 9 I wear regularly. 3 are the sports variety. I have some that are different colors and I can't wear those with white shirts.

I finally found a style that I love so I bought some on eBay...one purchase was a lot of 10! I probably have at least 20 total. I wash them every other week, so I have plenty in all different colors.

I read the subject line and thought.."Boy, she must mean the real shelves for real books!" And then I read your post. Gave myself an early morning chuckle.
I haven't read the others 'cause I just sneaked up here before breakfast to check one thing (not TWTM board, of course, but here I am!) I have 3 bOOkshelves for everyday wear and two sports ones. I am in need of new ones, though - just waiting till I am done nursing 'cause, like everything else, my bOOks have gone south and I have no clue what size I am now.

Three bOOkshelves, but they need to be replaced and I want another that's less utility-shelf ;) and at least one that's more sporty. I'd love to have more (just "because", and 'cause it reduces wear & tear so they last longer) but also need to buy more bookshelves! So I think I need five, and I want more than that.

Unfortunately they are all the basic utility type bOOkshelves. My size doesn't lend itself to buying all the pretty ones the Victoria doesn't keep so secret:p
Of course having 3 kids hasn't helped this matter and I didn't even nurse them (couldn't due to meds I have to take)
I have as many as I do because then there is less wear and tear on them I also only hang them to dry which helps them stay newer looking longer.
Best of luck on your "research"

My answer doesn't change much, except for the IKEA and homeschooling reference. Oh, and change "we" to "I." Unfortunately, most do seem to run two layers deep.

Well I voted wrong. 4 of those kind, and 6 of the other. 2 basic (white, buff) and 2 fun (red, black lace).
