How do I work the "Quote" Failed at my efforts!

Sorry to be so tech illiterate but can someone help me learn how to work these new features, please? Many thanks!

Whenever you are in a thread and you want to respond to a specific person, push the "quote" button in the lower right hand corner of their message. If you want to quote more than one person, use the button right beside the quote button - it's for mutli-quotes. Does that help?

Thanks Tonia, but that's what I did and then the entire message was there when I only wanted a part of it so I deleted all but what I wanted and the message didn't have any of the quote. I must be an idiot to not be able to grasp this!! Can you direct me any further???

Hmmm... Did you leave the html thingies - [quote] (I think that is what they look like) at the beginning and end of what you wanted to quote? If you deleted part of the quote, you might have actually deleted the html at the beginning and end?

I'm not sure if I'm explaining this right, but I hope that this is understandable! :0)
